Written translation is one of the most preferred mediums of translation and it is the act of translating a written document, completely and correctly without any loss in meaning, from one language into another by a translator with expertise on the subject matter.

In translation, the source language is the language being translated from and the target language is the language being translated to. After the original (source) text is translated the end product is the translation or in other words the “target text”.

At Dijital Tercüme, document translations are categorized into many areas of expertise such as commercial, technical, literary, legal, academic, patent, IT, medical, script, ad & marketing. Each area is divided into many different branches, creating about 110 different sub-specialties. The reason for this is that every document type or translation area of expertise should be approached individually.

Terminology to be used in the translation of a user guide and a film script, the way the translator of each approaches the text, their use of language, their wording and style, the pre-translation planning process and their working styles will be completely different from each other. This distinction is so clear that for every sub-branch a different translator with a different area of expertise is needed.

In conformity with our ISO 9001, ISO 17100, EN 15038, MTC 112 certificates, translators at Dijital Tercüme are subject to MYK UMS-6 Translator Standards.

Additionally, translations must go through a 16-step process involving steps such as final reading, editing, spellchecking, redaction and localization.

These documents could be literary works such as prose i.e. novels, short stories, tales, theater, cinema, essays, articles, interviews, biographies, autobiographies, critiques, memoirs, travel writings, humor and comedy writings, discourses and verses i.e. poems, epics, laments, mesnevis or could be documents we use in daily life or at work such as the translations of business contracts / agreements,  brochures, promotional text, informational articles about all kinds of touristic facilities, conference papers, advertisements of international expos, articles on a general subject area that don’t require specific terminology, theses, research, term papers, origin documentations, regulations, dealership agreements, legislations, circulars, bills of lading, warranties, protocols, consignment notes, authorization documents, official papers, patents, authorized signatory lists, letters of intent, petitions, court verdicts, balance sheets, interim invoices, delivery notes, certificates of authorization, trade registry gazettes, profit and loss account statements, catalogs, manuals, technical documents on automotive, machines, electrical appliances and electronics, construction, environmental systems, maintenance manuals, inventions, patents, documents with medical content such as articles on medicine, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, laboratory tests, analyses, brochures, prescriptions, medical reports, patents and prospectuses.
